So, we realized we need a new mattress. A serious “grown up” mattress, not some knock off for $500. I’ve heard of the major brands (Sealy, Simmons, Serta), but now that I’m trying to research them, it makes my head spin.

No two stores seem to carry the same models. Macy’s has a Simmons Beautyrest Classic “Felicia Ltd.” while Sit n’ Sleep has the Simmons “Frasier River” model. Are they the same mattress underneath with a different style pillow top?

Anyone know of a decent site that reviews mattresses or have suggestion about how to tackle this? I know we have to try them out, I’d just like to educate myself first.

I just got a new simmons beautyrest firm mattress thinking it was my old mattress that was causing the problem. But I still wake up with soreness even with this new mattress! It feels like my gutts are falling out. HELP!

Can anyone tell me which one is a better mattress among Simmons and Serta. Someone is selling me Queen size Simmons Beautyrest with pillowtop (model – Portolo Hills/Terentia) at $700 (the original price being $1350) and I can get a decent Serta mattress for around the same price.
Also how’s Sterns and Foster compared to Simmons. Help me, I got to take a decision by evening.

Right now I have a bed that is terrible… it “squeaks” soooo bad and is not comfortable. I would like not to spend more than $1300. I was told the tempur pedic is overrated. Then I was looking in Sealy PosturePedic but heard that people have backaches from it. Now I’m looking at Simmons Beautyrest and these are kinda expensive… but if they are great I am willing to buy one. (Also I heard pillow tops are overrated, is this true?) What is the best mattress in your opinion?

I have already went to the website and looked at the differences and don’t know much about the materials that it lists. I am wanting to purchase a Simmons mattress but I can’t figure out why some of these beds have a 500 dollar difference.

I work for a certain company and they have an employee store online. I need a new mattress bad and I have to choose from these choices. Im 6′4 and have no back problems

In the last 3 years, I have had two Simmons’ Beautyrest mattresses develop “potholes.” The first one was inspected and deemed defective and replaced by the store where I purchased it. Now the second one has been deemed defective. I’m not a giant or anything (6′1″, 185 lbs).
The store I got both of them from says that they will not give me my money back but will instead replace the mattress under warranty. I do not want another Simmons but that is all the store carries. They said if I want my money back I need to take it up with Simmons.
Does this make any sense? Has anyone been successful getting a refund from the manufacturer for their defective mattress?
The frame does have a center support and it has been checked along with the box spring for defects when they have inspected the mattresses. According to the store inspectors, everything looks fine.

im looking to buy a mattress and the simmons beautyrest is really comfy but over 1000 dollars! someone told me ikea made good cheap ones, does anyone have one? or can anyone reccomend other good mattresses that arent in the thou range? thanks!

Does anyone have it? Or something similar? I’m looking to buy this particular one and I wanted to get your opinion on it. Good, bad, everything in between.
